Destiny 2\u2019s next expansion, The Witch Queen, was pushed back to February 2022, but Bungie has added a new content pack to help players keep playing until Season 16 alongside its traditional Dawning event. The Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack will celebrate the developer\u2019s lineage, across the likes of Myth, Marathon, Oni, Halo, and of course, Destiny. Grasp of Avarice soundtrack released \u2013 December 5 As part of their free \u201cGjallardays\u201d holiday rewards, Bungie released at least one piece of the 30th Anniversary dungeon\u2019s soundtrack. Destiny 2 Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack release date and time The content arrives on December 7, 2021. That\u2019s a Tuesday, and it\u2019ll arrive at the usual weekly reset. As a reminder, that\u2019s 10 AM PT | 1 PM ET | 5 PM GMT | 3 AM AEST (Wednesday). That means today is the day at the time of writing \u2013 will it arrive alongside The Dawning? You can also expect the game\u2019s servers to go down for maintenance, so don\u2019t expect to jump straight in. How to get the Destiny 2 Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack You can pre-order the 30th Anniversary Pack for Destiny 2 right now on Steam, or on the Xbox or PlayStation stores, whichever you play on. The Bungie pack currently costs $24.99\/\u00a321.99 no matter where you purchase it, and there\u2019s no sign that will change before release. The cost of the DLC has been contentious among fans. Read more: Everything we know about The Witch Queen – The pack is also included in the Destiny 2: Witch Queen and 30th Anniversary Edition \u2013 that\u2019ll set you back $99.99\/\u00a387.99, but also includes the Witch Queen expansion, season passes for Seasons 16, 17, 18, and 19, two Year 5 dungeons, an exotic SMG and catalyst, and a sparrow. What\u2019s in Bungie\u2019s 30th Anniversary Destiny 2 pack The 30th Anniversary pack will feature some free content, as well as paid extras. Here\u2019s everything you\u2019ll find, whether you buy the pack or not. Free Content In terms of free content, players will be able to take part in a new six-player matchmade activity: the Dares of Eternity. We\u2019d imagine this will be along the lines of a traditional seasonal activity \u2013 think Astral Alignment, Override, or similar. It seems to share some aesthetic similarities to the paid dungeon, but you will be able to experience Dares of Eternity whether you purchase the pack or not. There will also be \u201ciconic weapons to collect\u201d, although whether these are new or reprised Destiny 1 weapons is anyone\u2019s guess at this point. Expect at least one of these to be tied to the aforementioned six-player matchmade activity, though. Bungie has mentioned \u201cmysteries to unravel,\u201d which points to some sort of narrative element. We\u2019ll add to this when we know more, but Bungie has also promised \u201crewards that commemorate our long and storied history together,\u201d although we still don\u2019t know what those will be. To help fuel the hype train, Bungie released the Grasp of Avarice dungeon\u2019s theme song a few days early. This pirate-inspired take on Destiny 2\u2019s signature musical style is available for all players to download free of charge, and further reinforces the dungeon\u2019s swashbuckling theme. In addition, players can also expect a hefty balance patch for Destiny 2, with a focus on shotguns and exotics, as well as big changes to Supercharge times. Players will also get their hands on some new gear as part of the free update, too: Forerunner Exotic Sidearm – Forerunner Exotic Sidearm Catalyst – BxR-55 Battle Legendary Pulse Rifle – Half-Truths Legendary Sword – Retraced Path Legendary Trace Rifle – Wastelander M5 Legendary Shotgun – Pardon our Dust Legendary Grenade Launcher – Paid Content In a recent blog post, Bungie explained that the 30th Anniversary pack functions as a DLC, and not seasonal content. As a result, players won\u2019t be able to buy it once and play anywhere \u2013 you\u2019ll need to get the pack on every platform you play on. First and foremost, we have to talk about the Gjallarhorn. This exotic rocket launcher from the original game is being added to Destiny 2 for Bungie\u2019s anniversary. It\u2019s unknown whether or not it will be available for players who don\u2019t get the pack at this point, but either way, players will need to \u201ccomplete a quest to unlock the classic Exotic Rocket Launcher,\u201d according to Bungie themselves. Want even more Gjallarhorn? Well, the anniversary pack also includes an awesome-looking Sparrow with the weapon\u2019s gold wolf livery. You\u2019ll have a tough time finding a better-looking way to speed around than this. You\u2019d think the dungeon, Grasp of Avarice, would be space pirate-themed, but we wouldn\u2019t count out Bungie including the nautical variety either. It\u2019ll be set in the Loot Cave on the Cosmodrome, too, a fun nod to the first game\u2019s history. The Thorn-inspired Armor Set you can see in the header image of this article will also be included, along with some special Bungie-themed ornaments and cosmetics, including the streetwear-style set at the top of the page. Destiny 1 weapons including Eysaluna and 1000 Yard Stare will make a comeback. Paid players can also get the Matador 64 Shotgun and Hero of Ages Sword. Like the free Dares of Eternity activity, the pack\u2019s Steam page also gave us a few enticing details on what to expect when diving into the Grasp of Avarice. \u201cReveal a tale of riches and regret as you follow an adventurer who traded his humanity for treasure,\u201d the page reads, giving us a brief glimpse into the apparently tragic tale that awaits us inside Destiny 2\u2019s take on the D1 Loot Cave. So, regardless of whether you pick up the pack or not, there looks to be plenty on offer for all Guardians once the 30th Anniversary bundle celebration fires up inside Destiny 2 on December 7. Halo crossover? Given Halo is a massive part of Bungie\u2019s history, many have wondered if Guardians will see any nods to the developer\u2019s prior franchise in the 30th Anniversary pack. While Bungie hasn\u2019t outright confirmed anything, it looks like the Halo Combat Evolved Magnum and Halo 2 Battle Rifle are included.
