Diablo 4’s holiday-themed Midwinter Blight event allowed players to unlock over a dozen different cosmetic items, many of them class-specific. Problems arose with respect to certain restrictions that baffled the user base as a whole. If someone got a staff for a Druid, for example, but wasn’t playing the character at the time, the only way to redeem the new content would be by stashing the item and creating a new Druid to access it. The process required far too much effort for something that should’ve proven fairly simple. Diablo players hoped Blizzard developers would make the necessary adjustments in time for the latest seasonal event – Lunar Awakening. To the community’s chagrin, nothing has changed on this front. Diablo 4’s Lunar Awakening repeats Midwinter Blight mistake The Lunar Awakening event kicked off on February 6 and will last through February 20. Like Midwinter Blight before it, the newest Diablo 4 festivities feature event-exclusive cosmetic rewards of the class-specific variety. Though the event just went live, players have already learned that the cosmetic restrictions plaguing Midwinter Blight weren’t addressed. As such, one Reddit user took it upon themselves to share a PSA with their fellow players. The Redditor explained, “…if you collect the event cosmetics and can’t unlock because your class can’t use it, you will need to stash [the cosmetic] and create a character to unlock the item.” The Diablo 4 community’s response to the Reddit post is anything but positive about the revelation. Reads one reply, “I was shocked when I saw this. Unreal.” Another user shared harsher words, writing, “This is a f***ing joke and the event is much more boring than Midwinter…” Someone else chimed in with, “Ya think they did ANY QC on the cosmetics, which is pretty much one of the only incentives to do this event? Just… wow.” As of writing, it’s unclear if Blizzard plans on addressing these critiques anytime soon.

Diablo 4 players slam cosmetic unlock restriction for Lunar Awakening event Blizzard EntertainmentTo the dismay of Diablo 4 players, the Lunar Awakening event features the same cosmetic unlock restrictions as Midwinter Blight.
