And while several dogs roam Sanctuary\u2019s safe havens in Diablo 4, it\u2019s not blatantly apparent that players can interact with them in the game. Simply walking up to the canines and exploring the likes of Kyovashad yields no button prompt. Using the game\u2019s dedicated interact button doesn\u2019t help, either. But fear not, we are here to help as it turns out there is actually a way to kneel down and give a dog your full attention. While it\u2019s a nice little feature, we\u2019ll explain how you can do this, but why you should maybe refrain from doing so too. How to pet the dog in Diablo 4 Diablo 4 users can simply walk up to a dog, open the options menu, hit the \u201cHello\u201d emote, then watch as their character bends down and greets the four-legged creature. Sadly, this heart-warming sentiment quickly takes a turn to the dark side. After petting the dog, it will subsequently leave the town with the player and unwittingly follow along \u2013 even into battle. It\u2019s then 99.99% certain that the dog will die in combat being by your side. So you\u2019ll have to decide if the opportunity to pet the dog is worth the poor animal\u2019s life.
