Unfortunately, even the game’s biggest proponents are struggling to find an upside. Diablo 4 Season 3 is live with a new Battle Pass and Season Journey to play through. The aptly named Season of the Construct brings a bunch of new mechanics to the game. Chief among them is a mechanical companion known as The Seneschal. This season has the particularly difficult task of following up the incredibly well-received Season of Blood. According to an overwhelming majority of players on social media, Diablo 4 Season 3 hasn’t risen to the challenge and is “a great step backward”. Issues with Season 3’s content and mechanics have even dissuaded major Diablo 4 streamers. Popular figures in the community Wudijo and Raxxanterax have each published videos on YouTube bemoaning the state of Diablo 4 in Season 3. Both streamers have critiqued Diablo 4 Season 3’s new companion and Vault Dungeon mechanics. Wudijo has blasted through the seasonal content in quick fashion and it’s apparent lack of end-game content has them wondering if they’re “missing something”. “I’m running through the Vaults, ignoring all the traps, ignoring the warding buff to get pearls. After five runs, I have ten pearls. Then I go to Malphas. I ignore all the traps, all the warding, and I kill Malphas, hope for the best, and repeat,” Wudijo elaborated. Raxxanterax’s criticisms were varied but primarily focused on “big missed opportunities” with The Seneschal. After taking a second Hardcore character to level 54, he’s concluded that the time and effort invested in upgrading your construct isn’t worth it for the minimal gain in power and discourages alts. Raxxanterax did make an effort to highlight what he thought Diablo 4 Season 3 was doing well including a “pretty fun” questline and positive changes to Diablo 4’s five classes. “Class balance in the game right now is in a better state than it ever has been,” he noted. Despite these silver linings, they don’t seem to be enough for two of the Diablo community’s most prominent figures to endorse the new season. Particularly as lingering issues regarding Diablo 4’s itemization and lack of end-game content persist. “I’m a bit deflated. I’m a little bit demoralized here and I’ll be honest with you, I’m not super excited to play Diablo 4 right now,” Raxxanterax told his audience. “I’m trying to find the motivation here but I don’t know where it’s going to come from.”

Diablo 4’s biggest streamers label Season 3 a “big miss” from Blizzard Blizzard EntertainmentTwo of Diablo 4’s most prevalent streamers have shared their thoughts on Season 3 amid the player backlash.
