As usual, players have rushed to try and obtain the Team of the Year cards to get the best team possible. Some saved their packs for months, racking up hundreds in the process in hopes of packing the special cards. However, bizarrely on January 30, almost every player found themselves packing the 97-rated Team of the Year Messi in an 86+ TOTY Leagues SBC, leaving many to claim the game is now \u201cruined.\u201d EA has \u201cruined\u201d FC 24 with free TOTY Messi glitch As the community flooded to complete the SBC in hopes of getting the TOTY centre-forward, the devs quickly responded and consequently disabled the SBC entirely. \u201cWe have identified an issue with the 86+ TOTY Leagues SBC, as a result we have disabled the SBC,\u201d they wrote in a post on Twitter\/X. However, according to much of the FC 24 community, the damage is already done as numerous claimed Ultimate Team is now \u201cruined.\u201d Popular FC 24 content creator Nepenthez was one of many to vent their frustrations. \u201cYeah, the issue is you\u2019ve just ruined the game,\u201d he wrote. \u201cFree Messi TOTY for everyone imo.\u201d According to some, every opponent they\u2019ve faced since the SBC glitch has had the Team of the Year Messi card in their team, backing the claims that the game is now ruined. \u201cEvery person I faced in Rivals tonight had TOTY Messi and I don\u2019t. EA have ruined this game and made it even more sh*t because they\u2019re thick as sh*t,\u201d they said. However, one explained that the game was completely ruined well before the SBC bug, and even claimed that backlash wouldn\u2019t nearly be as bad if the Team of the Year promo was satisfactory. \u201cThe Messi situation wouldn\u2019t even be a situation if TOTY wasn\u2019t completely ruined by these morons at EA beforehand,\u201d they hit out. \u201cIf people were even moderately happy with this promo, the backlash about a free TOTY Messi for these lucky people would not be nearly as bad.\u201d The Team of the Year promo was already fairly criticized for various reasons.
