AGDQ is one of Games Done Quick\u2019s flagship events, along with Summer Games Done Quick \u2013 which are held to raise money for several different charities each year. Tomatoanus explained on Twitter that his submissions were still accepted, but he had to alter his name in order to compete on stream at the annual speedrunning event. The speedrunner formerly known as tomatoanus In order to compete at AGDQ 2020, tomatoanus changed his name to \u201ctomatoangus\u201d after he found his submissions weren\u2019t publically viewable, but said he understood why GDQ required the change. \u201cThis is obviously because they\u2019re a professional organization representing a charity, which I understand and accept,\u201d tomato wrote in a doc on Twitter. \u201cI wanted to share my experience with GDQ and show their communication isn\u2019t strictly bad.\u201d A lot of people have asked about my name having a \u2018g\u2019 inserted into it for GDQ. Read More: What\u2019s on at EGX 2019 &#8211; \u201cThey still wouldn\u2019t be able to display my submissions if I was linking my Twitch to my account since I\u2019m still \u2018tomatoanus\u2019 on there. This is because they typically display the runner\u2019s Twitch channel name on stream as well,\u201d he explained. \u201cI accepted this and understand their position, so for the next event I unlinked my Twitch from my GDQ account and submitted under \u2018tomatoangus.\u2019\u201d The streamer went on to clarify that he didn\u2019t think his name prevented his submissions from being accepted, just from being made public. \u201cSome people think that me changing the username I submitted with was the limiting factor in a run of mine getting accepted,\u201d Tomato wrote. \u201cWhich I don\u2019t believe to be true.\u201d \u201cThere have been a couple other runners in the past who have been accepted with suspect usernames,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd they\u2019ve been asked to run with a different name at the event.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AGDQ forces top speedrunner to change explicit name Awesome Games Done Quick required Fallout speedrunner and streamer \u201ctomatoanus\u201d to change his name in order to participate in their latest event.
