The star Twitch streamer revealed on October 7 that he would be taking an indefinite break from his broadcasting schedule \u2014 just a week after ending his last hiatus \u2014 following a \u201cterrifying\u201d scare where his mother\u2019s oxygen tank caught fire and nearly exploded while he was resting. Asmongold had just had a frustrating stream, he said, and went to lay down. While he was resting, the Twitch star heard \u201ca really loud crash\u201d. Several flashing lights followed soon after, and he rushed into his mother\u2019s room. \u201cTurns out,\u201d he explained, \u201cshe had been smoking a little too close to her oxygen machine. There\u2019s fire everywhere, on her, and I had to put all that out.\u201d \u201cThe fire was on the little oxygen tube, it was going to the tank. It was like some kind of cartoon where the fire is going to the bomb\u2026 I immediately turned off the tank, I was able to stop it from exploding and all that. Then I put the fire out that was on the floor. It was everywhere. \u201cI freaked out. I didn\u2019t know if she was going to live. \u201cIt\u2019s one of the scariest experiences I\u2019ve had in my life. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever forget it. I can\u2019t even wrap my head around how the stars aligned for me to be there.\u201d \u201cWhat I keep coming back to,\u201d he continued, \u201cis that everything had to align for me to be there to save her. If I hadn\u2019t streamed at that time, gone in that day, got stressed out on my stream, and laid down, she\u2019d probably be dead. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t have heard any of it at all while I was upstairs. \u201cIt\u2019s terrifying, and really weird how incredibly lucky it was I was there. I keep replaying the situation in my head, four times an hour. I can\u2019t believe it happened.\u201d Asmongold confirmed he will not be streaming for some time as he deals with the fallout of the incident, and comes to terms with the near-death scare. \u201cI\u2019ll be back when I\u2019ll be back,\u201d he said. \u201cI wanted to make this video to tell everybody what happened in the most raw way possible.
