Professional competitors are at the top of their respective scenes for a reason. They’ve put the hours in and all but mastered their craft. While ‘Shangles’ represents a professional organization and is evidently an accomplished member of the Fighting Game Community (FGC), even the streamer himself was surprised with the outcome of this ridiculous match. In an October 23 broadcast, Shangles donned a green blindfold that meshed with his immersive streaming setup. Loading into a multiplayer match in Tekken 7, he then kept his hands in the air and tried to best his opposition all the while. Playing as Lucky Chloe while equipping a modded Street Fighter skin to resemble Cammy, the streamer used his feet to apply a hilarious beatdown online. The match started out remarkably close, with Shangles even being dropped to one-hit territory. Some precise timing clinched him the first round of competition but before long, the opponent disconnected from the game. Whether the Yoshimitsu player intentionally backed out of the game in a fit of rage, or actually suffered from untimely network issues remains unclear. If they were aware of Shangles set up however, they might have departed the match even earlier. “Did he leave?” The streamer questioned. “His battery ran out,” a viewer in Twitch chat responded, brutally implying that the opponent was no better than an AI bot. The streamer has a semi-pro background in a plethora of fighting games, with numerous Top 10 tournament finishes in Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom 3, so it’s no surprise that he would be able to school online rivals. But this just ramped things up to a whole new level. “Yeah, but he’s Chloe so it doesn’t count” Reddit user ‘_WRY_’ joked in response to the ridiculous clip, underscoring the power of the character he employed. If you’ve ever come within one hit of securing a round in a fighting game, you know how devastating it can be to watch it all slip away. Losing to an opponent that can’t even see the screen is another layer of embarrassment altogether, let alone the added bonus of Shangles using his feet.

Blindfolded Tekken streamer styles on opponent by playing with his feet Bandai Namco EntertainmentA variety streamer on Twitch with a background in high-level competition throughout a plethora of fighting games, ‘Shangles’ decided to up the ante for a recent Tekken match in the most amusing way.
