Hall, who has almost 10 million followers on TikTok, made a tweet on June 24 asking fans about \u201cstraight TikTok,\u201d insinuating that such a phrase was promoting \u201cheterophobia.\u201d \u201cWhat is \u2018straight\u2019 TikTok and why does everyone hate it,\u201d he said in a now-deleted tweet. \u201cWe are on the cusp of ending homophobia and now we\u2019re introducing heterophobia? What the f**k is 2020.\u201d https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CB1k-BcnucX\/ The tweet caught the ire of many of the TikTok star\u2019s fans, who claimed the tweet in itself was homophobic and dismissive of the issues faced by LGBT people. The tweet was only live for a matter of minutes before Hall took it down. He then immediately responded with an apology, saying that the comment he made was \u201cinsensitive\u201d and that he is \u201cnot cultured\u201d on those issues. \u201cThat tweet was insensitive and obviously I\u2019m not cultured on it and I shouldn\u2019t have spoken,\u201d he said in a Twitter post. \u201cI\u2019m a dumb sh*t and I don\u2019t think before I speak, and I\u2019m sure all of you know this by now.
