CEO Jack reveals how much money he gets offered for his Twitter handle 100 ThievesTwitter founder Jack Dorsey boasts a simple \u201c@jack\u201d as his username on the platform, and on an episode of the CouRage and Nadeshot Show, he revealed just how much money he\u2019s been offered to hand it over. One thing new Twitter users have to think long and hard about is what name they\u2019ll be going by on the platform. This goes for any social media app, but it\u2019s especially an issue there since the platform been around for over a decade. By now, almost all of the cool usernames are taken, so new users pretty much have no other choice but to accept their second or even third choice of name. Dorsey didn\u2019t have this problem, as he was able to secure the simple and easy remember name of \u201c@jack,\u201d right at the beginning of Twitter\u2019s life. During his appearance on The CouRage and Nadeshot Show, he was asked how much money people have offered him for this handle. He explained that it doesn\u2019t happen a whole lot on Twitter, but on Instagram, where he has the same handle, it\u2019s floated more often. \u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s ever happened,\u201d he said in response to whether somebody has offered an exorbitant amount of money for his handle. \u201cI have @jack on Instagram, though and people have offered, not, well, they haven\u2019t offered that much money. They\u2019ve offered $100 or $1000 and what-not, but that\u2019s consistent. I get requests all the time. Everyday.\u201d (Quote begins at 14:30) Of course, there\u2019s next to no chance he\u2019d ever give up either handle, so all of these offers are seemingly for nothing. But, even for a man as rich as Dorsey is, there\u2019s bound to be an offer that he can\u2019t refuse. It\u2019s hard to say what that offer would be for a man with a net worth estimated to be north of 5 billion, but we\u2019d guess it\u2019s somewhere in the range of a billion dollars or more for his Instagram name.
