Conor McGregor\u2019s coach reveals what they would do differently in a rematch against Khabib UFCConor McGregor\u2019s MMA coach, John Kavanagh, has revealed what they would do differently if the Irish fighter was to have a rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov. The undefeated Russian retained his UFC Lightweight Championship in convincing fashion at UFC 229, forcing McGregor to tap out to a rear naked choke in the fourth round of the contest. On Monday, October 8, Kavanagh appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast to break down and discuss the fight with the legendary UFC commentator. When asked by Rogan what they would do differently if Conor gets the rematch he wants with Khabib, Kavanagh says that they would focus more on attacking rather than defending against Nurmagomedov. Kavanagh stated: \u201cFrom a strategy point of view, my number one thing would be to think more offensively. \u201cWe definitely had opportunities to land shots, and when Conor lands shots, well\u2026 You know, watch the Eddie fight.\u201d continued the coach. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t take him a whole lot of shots, he rarely misses. \u201cBut this one, he didn\u2019t seem seem to be landing. When I look back at the training camp, we did spend most of our time with a defensive mindset, and I think that was a mistake.\u201d Nurmagomedov\u2019s victory over the former two-weight world champion was unfortunately tainted by a brawl that took place after the fight had ended. Khabib scaled the Octagon and attacked Conor\u2019s training partner Dillon Danis, while member\u2019s of The Eagle\u2019s team stormed the cage and attempted to assault McGregor. Thanks to comments made by McGregor on social media, it\u2019s clear that \u2018The Notorious One\u2019 is eager for a rematch against Khabib.
