The star says \u201cit ignited outrage and internet shaming that got pretty severe\u201d. Twitter backlash explained Wu is referring to the tweets she made three years ago, when she was frustrated with ABC\u2019s renewal of the sitcom \u2018Fresh off the Boat\u2019. Out of frustration, she tweeted \u201cSo upset right now that I\u2019m literally crying. Ugh. F*ck\u201d and \u201cF*cking hell\u201d. The actress clarified that those tweets were posted during a \u201crough day\u201d, and that the renewal of the sitcom meant she\u2019d have to turn down a passion project. Unfortunately, she received a lot of online backlash from the impulsive comments. In her recent comments, she explains that she became suicidal after receiving \u201ca few DMs from a fellow Asian actress [who] told me I\u2019d become a blight on the Asian American community\u201d. Even my tweets became a subject so touchy that most of my AsAm colleagues decided that was the time to avoid me or ice me out.
