Deji responds to underage grooming allegations against Twitch mod Popular YouTuber Deji Olatunji has responded to underage grooming allegations levelled against one of his Twitch and Discord moderators, saying that the person has been reported to police. Deji, who streams on Twitch under the alias of \u2018comedyshortsgamer\u2019, revealed that one of his mods had allegedly been abusing their position of power to solicit sexual pictures from underage fans of the Youtuber. The moderator, who goes by the name \u2018BamJake\u2019, was a long-standing member of Deji\u2019s community on Twitch and Discord. In a video titled \u201cI have some bad news,\u201d Deji laid out the situation to his fans, and spoke out against the mod\u2019s actions. \u201cIt has come to my attention that he has been grooming young boys and asking young boys for pictures \u2014 like nude pictures,\u201d he said. \u201cBamJake was 20, and all the boys are under the age of 16. \u201d BamJake has been around Deji\u2019s Twitch streams for months, helping him build a bigger presence on the platform. \u201cOne time I was live streaming on Twitch and someone came in, his name was BamJake,\u201d he said. \u201cI thought he was a chill dude, he was funny as hell, trolly as well \u2014 it was a good time, and I thought he was an alright guy. \u201cI made him a mod on my stream, not seeing any big deal about it. He even made me a Discord server, which looking back on it, he was very adamant about the Discord server.\u201d Deji alleges BamJake used his position of power to groom more than ten children, under the age of 16, to send him sexual images. \u201c10+ boys have come out saying they have been groomed by BamJake, [and] it\u2019s just disgusting really,\u201d he said. \u201cI put trust into this guy and it turns out that he\u2019s like this. \u201cHe was begging for nudes, and that\u2019s just really disgusting in my opinion, it\u2019s just gross.\u201d The YouTube personality, who has almost 10 million subscribers and 2 million Twitter followers, shared some of the messages sent by BamJake to the children. He said the victims were \u201cvery brave for coming forward,\u201d saying it\u2019s not their fault. \u201cIt\u2019s not [the victims\u2019] fault,\u201d he said. \u201cI understand because they didn\u2019t see the severity of it, they were just like \u201coh, he\u2019s going to give me money if I do this,\u201d so they obviously didn\u2019t understand how severe it is.\u201d Deji has apologised to his fanbase, saying that he misplaced his trust and that many of his other moderators warned him about BamJake\u2019s behavior. \u201cI just want to say sorry,\u201d he said. \u201cSorry for putting trust into this guy, and I\u2019m sorry to the other boys who have had issues with BamJake. \u201cI\u2019m an optimist, I was seeing that maybe he\u2019s alright, but clearly not. I thought I was a good judge of character, but obviously I\u2019m not.\u201d Deji mentioned that the police have gotten involved, and an investigation into the accusations is on-going. \u201cThe police are already dealing with the situation,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m happy that the police are getting involved because this is sick.\u201d He also urged other victims of the sexual harassment to come forward and report their experiences to the police. \u201cIf this is happening to you, please come forward,\u201d he said. \u201cDon\u2019t be shy, don\u2019t be scared, just come forward.
