In the third episode since the OfflineTV Podcast\u2019s returned to YouTube, Disguised Toast sat down with Imane \u2018Pokimane\u2019 Anys and explained why he thinks internet stars can\u2019t become household names like other celebrities. To illustrate his point, he referred to streaming giants like Tyler \u2018Ninja\u2019 Blevins and Felix \u2018xQc\u2019 Lengyel. He claimed that despite making waves on the internet and even in real life, gaming is still too \u201cniche\u201d to compare to other industries. \u201cThe biggest impact a gamer has had would be Ninja. He made a lot of money, and it kind of paved the way for those platform deals. Ninja\u2019s manager was really smart about what he did and kind of set all of us up,\u201d Toast said. But while he thinks it would be \u201ccool\u201d to reach that level, he thinks it isn\u2019t enough to become a \u201chousehold name.\u201d The main reason is that gaming is still too \u201cniche\u201d compared to more traditional things like acting. Toast also used xQc as an example: \u201cNot a lot of people would know him, right? If you\u2019re into gaming, you\u2019ll know him. But a lot of people still aren\u2019t into gaming.\u201d \u201cMaybe gaming reaches a point one day where it\u2019s synonymous with television and movies. That would be cool. That would be very nice. But we\u2019re still far from there.\u201d Toast revealed that he\u2019s \u201cthought about\u201d making a short film with the OfflineTV crew. However, he fears that the audience would be too caught up with identifying them. We\u2019ll have to wait and see whether that happens.
