Despite admitting that they aren\u2019t married \u201con paper,\u201d it doesn\u2019t look like the couple is giving up their charade anytime soon \u2013 but Jake Paul\u2019s ex-girlfriend, Erika Costell, appears to see through what could be a mere stunt for views. During an episode of \u201cUnder the Influence\u201d with Tom Ward, the YouTuber-turned model mentioned her own Vegas marriage to ex-boyfriend Jake Paul \u2013 a union she blatantly called \u201cfake.\u201d \u201cI didn\u2019t think that was going to happen,\u201d Erika said of the massive following she received due to her relationship with Paul. \u201cBut \u2018Jerika\u2019 or whatever was already a thing in his vlogs, so his audience knew who I was. So, that really helped, and we also got fake married in Vegas. Sounds a little familiar.\u201d That\u2019s not all: Costell also speculated that the couple had created their fake marriage to stir up \u201ccontroversy\u201d for views and attention, for which she expressed some concern regarding its lastability. \u201cI think they like the controversy,\u201d she continued. \u201cI think it gets them going. I don\u2019t know, because I don\u2019t do it, but to each their own. It\u2019s working, yeah. Back then, it was nice to wake up and have instant gratification, and I think what they\u2019re doing is instant. \u2026I feel like it\u2019s just repetitive. But it\u2019s working, so whatever.\u201d While both Jake and Tana have yet to react to Costell\u2019s comments, this marks the first time Erika has openly spoken out about the issue following her breakup with Paul \u2013 as well as their infamous lunchtime meetup after the big wedding.
