FaZe Clan suspends Mew amid investigation of streamer Ashtronova\u2019s allegations Twitter: FaZeMewFaZe Clan have chosen to suspend Kerry \u2018Mew\u2019 Nguyen in light of recent claims from streamer \u2018Ashtronova\u2019 in regard to inappropriate actions and comments from Mew in the last year. FaZe Mew is facing allegations from Ashtronova after the latter claimed in a statement that Mew acted inappropriately towards her \u201cexactly a year ago.\u201d Ashtronova recounts a night out in which she claims she was \u201cdrunk\u201d and FaZe Mew was \u201csober.\u201d On that particular night, the pair spent time together, despite Mew being in a relationship at the time. \u201cI didn\u2019t know that. He cheated on his girlfriend that night to do what he did. I didn\u2019t know this until a few weeks ago.\u201d From there, Ashtronova explained that he began \u201clove bombing\u201d her and sending her gifts after she \u201cghosted him.\u201d The full statement from Ashtronova can be read here. As well as the initial claims, Ashtronova also alleged that FaZe Mew has a compromising video of the two of them \u2013 one that she claimed she did not give her consent to \u2013 and that he said he would release it to the public. In a recent tweet, Ashtronova wrote \u201ctoday FaZe Mew said if I don\u2019t stop what I\u2019m going to say later today, he\u2019s going to drop a video of me and him he filmed without my consent. If that\u2019s not blackmai, I don\u2019t know what is. I\u2019m still going to say what I\u2019m going to say. you\u2019re NOT going to stop me from speaking up.\u201d FaZe Clan suspends FaZe Mew following the initial allegations Following Ashtronova\u2019s statement, FaZe Clan issued a statement of their own. In the tweet, the organization wrote: \u201cWe\u2019re taking the accusations against Mew seriously and taking all measures to investigate the situation. We\u2019ve mutually agreed on an indefinite suspension while we gather information to determine further action.\u201d FaZe Mew then retweeted the post, adding that he is planning on following up on the accusations and handling the situation while he is put on suspension. \u201cI support Faze with an indefinite suspension while I take matters in my own hand.\u201d \u201cI will seek and hold a proper investigation and take legal action against these allegations against my name and the people around me. I want to handle this the right way and legal way.\u201d FaZe Mew responds to allegations Just two days after the allegations went public, FaZe Mew issued a lengthy response on Twitter. Breaking down multiple accusations from Ashtronova one by one, Mew sought to clear his name in providing screenshots and further evidence of the pair\u2019s interactions. Namely, addressing the matter of consent, Mew admitted \u201ccontext is important.\u201d At the time, he doubled down that she verbally consented to his actions. \u201cI literally asked her if it was ok if I touched her, and she said yes. She also asked if I was ok with it, and I also said yes. \u201cShe seemed happy to go into my room,\u201d he continued. \u201cShe was actively engaged during the event. She never indicated that she didn\u2019t want that to happen or otherwise seemed uncomfortable or intoxicated.\u201d When it comes to allegedly filming the incident, Mew shut down that notion altogether. \u201cThis is not true. I never filmed her or us in the bedroom, I have no idea where that came from.\u201d Mew also took issue with Ashtronova\u2019s claim that he continually asked for consent \u201cweeks after she returned home,\u201d stating that it\u2019s simply \u201cnot true. \u201cFirst, I have never felt that I did anything wrong. She was not intoxicated and neither was I. Second, I was asking whether she liked me and wanted to hang out with me again because I liked her. I asked her on a date and wanted to make sure this wasn\u2019t a one-time hook-up.\u201d Last but not least, Mew also looked to shut down the notion he was in a long-term relationship at the time he hooked up with Ashtronova, once again claiming it to be false. \u201cI had just ended a 7 year relationship months prior, and had talked to someone before Ashtronova, but I was not in a relationship at that time.\u201d As FaZe Clan\u2019s investigation remains ongoing, we\u2019ll be sure to update you here with any further developments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
