H3H3\u2019s Ethan Klein confronts JiDion for labeling him a \u201cliberal racist\u201d YouTube: H3 Podcast \/ YouTube: JiDionH3H3\u2019s Ethan Klein invited JiDion to his podcast to air their grievances after the latter called the former a \u201cliberal racist\u201d for his reaction to his video about \u201cthe most racist town in America\u201d. Klein said while JiDion had \u201cgood intentions\u201d, he was ill-equipped for the video. However, JiDion defended his stance. H3H3 and JiDion have been going at it \u2014 slightly, at least \u2014 after Ethan Klein reacted to the JiDion\u2019s viral video named \u201cI went to the most racist town in America!\u201d The 21-minute video, which has more than 9 million views, showcases JiDion going around some of America\u2019s most notorious towns for racism, namely Harrison and Zinc, Arkansas. He talked to minorities along the way, and also tried to break the stigma around these towns\u2019 titles. H3H3 was individually called out for being a \u201cliberal racist\u201d by JiDion after reacting to the video, which rubbed Klein the wrong way. So when the two confronted each other on H3H3\u2019s podcast, they had to address the elephant in the room immediately. \u201cYou accused me of \u2014 what I felt like was a light jab about \u2018The Most Racist Town in America\u2019 video you made \u2014 you called me a \u2018liberal racist\u2019,\u201d Klein opened. \u201cI am intrigued by that, I was just hoping you unpacked it a little more in your video so maybe you could do that for me.\u201d JiDion defended his stance though, saying that while conventional norms of racism are well known, \u2018liberal racism\u2019 is often brushed \u201cunder the rug\u201d. \u201cI don\u2019t think I called you a \u2018liberal racist\u2019 because personally I don\u2019t think you\u2019re a racist. I said \u2018this was liberal racism\u2019. I said the same thing about Hasan,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat comes under the rug and people don\u2019t talk about is liberal racism, and what I think [that] is\u2026 like white people thinking they know better than black people, thinking they have to save us. It\u2019s more of like a white savior complex.\u201d JiDion said he felt patronized by H3H3\u2019s reaction to the video, and while he doesn\u2019t regret what he said, he \u201cregrets how [he] phrased it\u201d. Klein pushed back at this explanation somewhat, saying JiDion was ill-equipped to handle some of the conversations he was getting himself involved with by touring around the towns. \u201cThe criticism of that video was you went there and you\u2019re like \u2018we can talk with these people\u2019,\u201d he said. \u201cYou\u2019re talking to that KKK guy who\u2019s basically like \u2018you can\u2019t come to my church\u2019 and he thinks whites and black people should be separated, so you kind of just gave him a platform to talk uncontested. \u201cWe all see that the video had good intentions and we get what you\u2019re trying to do out there. I\u2019ve made this mistake before\u2026 when you talk to people that incendiary and that indefensible, lying and misleading sh*t, you have to be equipped to respond to it appropriately. You have to be prepared, else they\u2019re left to say whatever they want kind of unchecked and in a way you let the guy give his platform up without challenging him in a way that would have been meaningful.\u201d JiDion did admit he didn\u2019t exactly know what he was getting himself into, but he wanted to attempt to paint a balanced picture of these towns which he believes so often get mislabeled. \u201cWhen I got there, got talking to the minorities of the place, figuring out and learning that \u2018it\u2019s not actually the town of Harrison, it\u2019s the little town of Zinc\u2019. Then going over to Zinc and finding out it\u2019s not even there, it\u2019s literally just that compound and how everyone in that area doesn\u2019t like them. \u201cEveryone was cussing them out and talking about how much they dislike them, and then I go on his property to talk to him, and me personally \u2014 if I was to go there, he talked, and I was like \u2018you f**king racist, you\u2019re wrong\u2019 \u2014 it would have gotten a lot of clicks, but what it would have got done?\u201d However, from there the two made up and kept the conversation going respectfully for half an hour, discussing all manner of topics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
