While TikTok is best known for its FYP and the algorithm that is behind it, users are also able to view their ‘Following’ feed on the app. This exists in a tab right next to the For You Page and allows you to see the videos from creators that you have specifically followed, making it a lot more customizable than the FYP. Following other users on TikTok will put their videos in your following feed, which makes it easy to locate all the newest videos from people you’ve chosen to keep tabs on. By then unfollowing users will remove those accounts from that area of the app. If you’ve decided that your ‘Following’ feed is getting too busy, or you aren’t interested in seeing a particular creator’s content anymore, you might find yourself wanting to unfollow someone. How to unfollow on TikTok Unfollowing someone on TikTok is not a complicated process, and doesn’t require much effort once you know how to do it. To do so, simply follow these instructions. Launch the TikTok website or app. – Find the account you want to unfollow (one way you can do this is by looking at the ‘Following’ list in the ‘Profile’ tab or by searching for them by clicking on the magnifying glass.) – Click on their username. – Under their profile picture, there should be several icons. Tap the logo of a person with a tick symbol next to it to unfollow them. – If you want to refollow them again, all you have to do is click the pink ‘Follow’ button, or if you want to permanently remove an account, you are also able to block them. How to unfollow multiple people at once on TikTok If you don’t just want to unfollow one specific account on TikTok and want to wipe the slate clean entirely by minimizing the number of accounts you follow, there is a way to easily unfollow a large number of people in a relatively short space of time. It’s not instant, but it could save you time if you are looking to unfollow people quickly. Just do as follows: Open TikTok. – Go to your profile tab. – Click on ‘Following’ above your bio. This should bring you to a list of every account you follow. – Next to their names, there will be white ‘Following’ buttons. Simply tap that button once to unfollow somebody. – Using this method, you can go down the list and quickly remove a large amount of people from your following list, speeding up the process somewhat.
