However, UFC 264 ended in chaos after McGregor awkwardly fell backward and broke his leg right at the end of the first round. Poirier claimed McGregor sustained the injury earlier in the fight. \u201cHe fractured it in one of the checks earlier in the fight and it broke on a punch,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen I pointed at it at the beginning of the fight, that\u2019s when he did it. I felt something. He was kicking me hard.\u201d There appeared to be no sign of damage to the leg.
