In 2012, a 22-year-old McLoughlin made the decision to share his gaming videos with the world. The video cracked 500,000 views \u2014 ten times his average in 2013 \u2014 and the world learned the name \u2018Jacksepticeye.\u2019 Soon after, McLoughlin earned another boost for his blossoming channel: YouTube king Felix \u2018PewDiePie\u2019 Kjellberg shared McLoughlin\u2019s name in a September 2013 video. His subscribers leaped from 2,500 to 15,000 in just three days. After all this time, however, the YouTube superstar admitted during his seven-year celebrations he sometimes still \u201cfeels like an imposter\u201d in his career. \u201cI get very doubtful about things, I think it\u2019s that imposter syndrome kicking in that so many people who do this type of stuff have,\u201d he admitted. \u201cThere\u2019s times where I sit down and really think about what it is to have a channel of this size, and a community of this size, and I think about some of the things that I\u2019ve done, and it just almost feels like a different person has done them. \u201cI get those moments where I feel down, and I feel sad, and I don\u2019t want to record, and I think \u201cman people don\u2019t care anymore, or I don\u2019t care anymore,\u201d and that voice of doubt in your head takes over, and you have to push it out.\u201d McLoughlin also admitted the \u2018imposter syndrome\u2019 he sometimes battles with isn\u2019t always a bad thing \u2014 it helps keep him focused, and driven. \u201cEvery now and then I think it\u2019s so crazy that I get to do all this,\u201d he admitted. \u201cMaybe that\u2019s a good thing, it keeps me grounded, and it keeps me remembering that I didn\u2019t always get to do this, and it could have easily not happened. \u201cI could have been yelling into a void, and no one could have listened.
