The pair nearly got into it when Mayweather was preparing to fight Paul\u2019s brother Logan back in June 2021, and the two still don\u2019t seem to be on the best of terms. Now, per talkSPORT.com, Jake has said he\u2019s actually talked to the boxing legend about a potential bout, which wouldn\u2019t be just an exhibition like his brother had. According to Paul he\u2019s messaged Mayweather about an actual weighted pro fight, unlike his brothers which didn\u2019t declare a winner, but \u201cit isn\u2019t happening,\u201d according to talkSPORTS report. \u201cI don\u2019t do exhibitions, I told Floyd, I actually messaged him and I said \u2018Yo, if you want to do a real pro fight at a weight class, then let\u2019s do it,\u201d Jake told the site. \u201cBut I think he\u2019s going to retire and that\u2019s probably what\u2019s best for him because my brother is a great fighter, but I\u2019m just built different.\u201d What\u2019s more, Jake seems confident he could do even better than his brother did against the boxing legend, boasting \u201cI would have take Floyd out and that wouldn\u2019t be good for him.\u201d Mayweather, for his part, has indicated he\u2019ll probably be headed for retirement without taking on both of the Paul brothers to cap his career off. Plenty of fans would like to see him take on Jake as well, but it most likely isn\u2019t on the 50-0 champ\u2019s to-do list.
