Some have claimed it is too \u201cwoke,\u201d interpreting its representation of the female experience as \u201cman-hating.\u201d Now Joe Rogan is weighing in, revealing to Post Malone on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience that he is \u201cappalled\u201d by the amount of backlash the movie has received. \u201cA lot of people are upset about the Barbie movie, and I left [the theatre] perplexed,\u201d Rogan stated, calling the movie \u201cinteresting\u201d and \u201coriginal.\u201d \u201cIt was a fun, silly movie \u2014 I laughed. But at the end of it, I was like, \u2018How did people get outraged at that?\u2019\u201d he continued. \u201cI know some people personally who said it\u2019s anti-men, I\u2019m like, \u2018No, it\u2019s making fun of dorks.\u2019\u201d He praised Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling\u2019s performances and questioned whether the people upset over the film had taken it personally and perceived the movie to be \u201cmaking fun\u201d of them (We\u2019re looking at you, Ben Shapiro). \u201cAre we [going to] do this thing where we put all men as men? It\u2019s one category? We\u2019re not going to judge people as individuals?\u201d Rogan questioned. \u201cLike, I don\u2019t understand why people think that represents all men.\u201d Rogan also stated that he believed the movie was a realistic take on how Barbie would react if brought to life in the real world, with Post Malone calling it a \u201cgood concept.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s a fun movie, man\u2026 I\u2019m appalled at how easily outraged so many people are,\u201d Rogan concluded.
