Paul and Adgal first revealed they were expecting a new addition to the family in April of this year after getting engaged at Lake Como, Italy, in July 2023. Shortly after the big announcement, the soon-to-be parents hosted a gender reveal via a wrestling match in Paul\u2019s backyard between two fighters on April 27. One wrestler wore blue trunks while the other donned pink, with the latter ultimately coming out on top as the couple discovered they were expecting a baby girl. Expecting a fall arrival with Adgal \u201cmore than halfway\u201d through her pregnancy, the couple offered insight into how they felt about welcoming their first child while attending the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue launch party in NYC. And it turns out, Paul experienced some \u201canxiety\u201d after discovering the gender of their baby. \u201cHe definitely, I think as most boys, wanted a boy first,\u201d Agdal explained in an exclusive with Extra. Paul agreed, admitting it took \u201cthree days\u201d for him to come to terms with the news he was having a baby girl. Nonetheless, he said, \u201cThe idea of having a girl now is awesome. I\u2019m in love with it. I can\u2019t imagine anything else. But at first, it was a little daunting, you know?\u201d It turns out that Paul\u2019s \u201canxiety\u201d stemmed from two main reasons \u2014 one being how his daughter would be treated growing up; \u201cMy mind got like, \u2018I\u2019m a guy, I know how, like, guys treat girls. It\u2019s not always fair. Life\u2019s hard.\u2019 And it took me a little bit to get over.\u201d He also shared he was concerned for his daughter\u2019s teenage years; \u201cWhen she becomes like a teenager and is like, \u2018I\u2019m going to do what I want, Dad.\u2019 That\u2019s where my anxiety comes from.\u201d Despite this, he recognized that time was \u201cso far out from now\u201d and was focused on \u201cthose first 13 years,\u201d admitting raising his daughter with Agdal was \u201cgoing to be the best time of our lives.\u201d \u201cNow I can\u2019t imagine having anything else than a baby girl, and I couldn\u2019t be more excited,\u201d he said. \u201cShe\u2019s going to be like Daddy\u2019s girl, that\u2019s what happens,\u201d Agdal predicted, confessing she had already bought \u201ca bunch of stuff\u201d to dress their baby in.
