Logan Paul calls out Shane Dawson for \u2018Sociopath\u2019 video in Jake Paul docuseries Popular YouTuber Logan Paul created a video criticizing Shane Dawson\u2019s newest episode in a docuseries covering social media star Jake Paul. The video, titled \u2018The Dark Side of Jake Paul,\u2019 entertains the idea that Jake could be a sociopath \u2013 among many other YouTubers and celebrities. Logan took issue with this idea, feeling as though Dawson were painting Jake with a wide brush and confusing the terms \u2018sociopath\u2019 with \u2018psychopath.\u2019 He noted that, while the words sound similar, they reference entirely different mental disorders, and cited his own past controversies as having led him to research their differences. \u201cIt is not black and white,\u201d he stated. \u201c99% of the time someone is not [either] a sociopath or not a sociopath.\u201d He preferred the term \u2018sociopathic tendencies\u2019 over the label of \u2018sociopath,\u2019 and held that many YouTubers could possess said tendencies due to the nature of their industry. \u201cA lot of us \u2013 me included \u2013 will do some stuff that lacks empathy strictly for views,\u201d he admitted. \u201cIt gets us views, which gets us subscribers. Our motivating factor is to reach the next level.\u201d He continually referenced Dawon\u2019s \u2018young and impressionable\u2019 audience, and feared that Dawson\u2019s dramatic and fearful use of the term \u2018sociopath\u2019 could lead to unfair stigma around those who actually possess sociopathic traits. Paul\u2019s criticisms echo that of many other fans and internet personalities. While he held fast to his opinions, Logan likewise expressed a deep respect for Dawson, and stated that he would even send the YouTuber some of his merchandise near the end of his video response.
