The star claimed that he\u2019d visited the U.S. island territory to \u201cscout it out\u201d a week prior, saying he\u2019d been \u201cfiending for a change in my life\u201d and that he\u2019d been \u201cbitten\u201d by the bug that\u2019s causing everyone else to leave Hollywood. \u201cI went out there to scout it, and I fell in love with it,\u201d Paul explained. \u201cObviously, I\u2019m impulsive, and I trust my gut, my instincts. I feel like it\u2019s the closing of a chapter and the opening of a new one.\u201d Although Paul had looked into both Texas and Miami, the YouTuber ended up choosing Puerto Rico due to its significantly lower taxes in comparison to California\u2019s, as well as its relative isolation and the relaxed island lifestyle.
