Logan Paul speaks out on Jake Paul & RiceGum\u2019s gambling scam fiasco Logan Paul, YouTubeSocial media star Logan Paul invited YouTuber Bryan \u2018RiceGum\u2019 Le onto his \u2018imPaulsive\u2019 podcast on January 5, where he asked him about his controversial video promoting alleged gambling website \u2018MysteryBrand.net.\u2019 Logan Paul admitted that he understood RiceGum\u2019s reasoning for partnering with the brand, speculating that the YouTuber earned anywhere from $200,000 to $250,000 for the deal. Paul also sympathized with Le\u2019s video on the subject, where he noted that many other YouTubers with far more subscribers were also working with the site. \u201cIn my opinion, it\u2019s a very minor thing,\u201d Paul said of the debacle. \u201cIt\u2019s just the first thing of the year for people to be like, \u2018Gotcha!\u2019\u201d RiceGum himself went on to state that he shouldn\u2019t have promoted the website to children \u2013 but didn\u2019t turn his nose down at the money offered for the deal, either. \u201cAll I\u2019m saying was, it was a mistake, I probably shouldn\u2019t have done it, and it will never happen again \u2013 but, shit, I made the bag!\u201d RiceGum laughed. However, Le took issue with critics labeling the site a \u2018scam,\u2019 claiming that he \u201cdidn\u2019t know much\u201d about the service and wasn\u2019t involved in a shady plot to swindle users out of their money. YouTube has since spoken out on the issue, claiming that creators are responsible for being transparent with their audience and adhering to local laws in an interview with The Verge on January 3.
