Logan Paul\u2019s new YouTube Red movie gets the greenlight Controversial YouTuber Logan Paul has gotten the greenlight for his YouTube Red movie, titled \u2018The Thinning: New World Order.\u2019 Paul announced the film in a recent Tweet, where he simply wrote, \u201cSurprise \ud83d\ude08\u201d The Tweet linked to an advertisement for the movie, which is a direct sequel to Paul\u2019s first movie, \u201cThe Thinning.\u201d The original film was likewise a YouTube Red exclusive. The film was put on hold and allegedly shelved following Paul\u2019s controversial vlog in Japan\u2019s Aokigahara \u2018Suicide Forest\u2019 in early 2018, which got him suspended from YouTube\u2019s premium advertisement program. While the platform put the Thinning sequel on hold, the project is now fully a-go, as YouTube revealed in a statement following its release. \u201cThe entire cast and crew worked extremely hard to complete this film last year,\u201d a representative of the company stated in response to The Verge. \u201cIn fairness to all of them and the fans who have been asking for the sequel, we decided to release The Thinning: New World Order.\u201d However, YouTube\u2019s decision to greenlight the film hasn\u2019t gone without criticism, as PewDiePie\u2019s YouTube Originals series, \u2018Scare PewDiePie,\u2019 was completely canceled following a controversy after the YouTuber used anti-semitic language. The Thinning films follow a dystopian premise, where the general population is controlled through a high-school aptitude test. As can be guessed, those who fail the test are then executed, leading to the series\u2019 main source of conflict.
