Dating and finding love has been revolutionized over the years, as many people have turned to using their mobile devices through apps such as Tinder and Bumble to find love. With social media also taking over society as we know it, this has caused a rise in pages and groups forming surrounding dating and relationships. One of these is the popular Facebook group \u2018Are We Dating the Same Guy?\u2019 which focuses around reviews and experiences with people they have dated in different areas. Now, a man who was posted in the Chicago page, has filed a lawsuit against the members of the group and Facebook itself for damaging comments towards his dating history and reputation. Man sues Facebook dating group over \u201cill-minded\u201d comments Nikko D\u2019Ambrosio, 32, from Chicago, has filed a defamation lawsuit on January 11, 2024, against 28 members of the popular Facebook group. According to Today, who obtained the court documents made to District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, he has sued multiple companies, such as Meta and Facebook themselves. It has been made in response to the original post that was shared to the page, which revealed his name and featured a photograph of him. Following the post, it quickly gained traction and received various negative comments from users from Chicago who had allegedly dated him and warned others to avoid. \u201cI went out with him a few times just over a year ago, he told me what I wanted to hear until I slept with him and then he ghosted\u2026 I\u2019d steer clear,\u201d one woman said. Another commented: \u2018We met organically in Chicago two and a half months ago. Very clingy very fast. Flaunted money very awkwardly and kept talking about how I don\u2019t want to see his bad side.\u201d D\u2019Ambrosio has sued for seven different counts in total. These include defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy by false light, civil liability for doxxing, misappropriation, unjust enrichment and public disclosure of private facts. In a statement to CBS, D\u2019Ambrosio\u2019s attorneys revealed: \u201cWe\u2019ve been working on this for several months. We\u2019ve tried everything but sue these people.
