Although allegations surrounding Ballinger\u2019s alleged inappropriate behavior toward young fans have been around since 2020, the accusations kicked up once again in June, with more fans claiming she \u201cexploited\u201d them. Ballinger infamously responded to the allegations in a ten-minute long video where she sang a song while playing a ukulele, claiming her management team had \u201cstrongly advised\u201d her not to \u201csay what I want to say,\u201d but \u201crealized they never said that I couldn\u2019t sing.\u201d The YouTuber\u2019s apology video, which has since been dubbed \u2018Toxic Gossip Train,\u2019 was mocked relentlessly online \u2014 and was once again lampooned during the 2023 Streamy Awards. Throughout the skit, a woman sat in a chair on stage and played the ukulele. It wasn\u2019t until the end, when MatPat went to take away the instrument, that it became clear he was pointing a finger at Colleen Ballinger. \u201cBut it was the tragic loss of this one thing that truly hit the creator community the hardest,\u201d MatPat said. \u201cSomething whose train unfortunately left the station with one ill-advised, ten-minute long video.\u201d MatPat moved to take away the ukulele, saying, \u201cI\u2019m sorry.\u201d The woman then stood up and said, \u201cNo, I\u2019m sorry,\u201d before walking backstage.
