Earlier this month, JoJo Siwa came under fire for opening up about her relationship with Colleen Ballinger on Howie Mandel\u2019s podcast. Having known the controversial YouTuber since she was 12, Siwa surprised viewers when she defended Ballinger by saying, \u201cThe internet can take a lie and run so far with it, so far, to the point where you just can\u2019t do anything about it.\u201d Claiming the backlash against Ballinger was the internet capitalizing \u201coff of her cancellation\u201d, Siwa\u2019s comments landed her in hot water for \u201cvictim shaming\u201d. Now American YouTuber Charles Christopher White Jr., better known as \u2018MoistCr1TiKaL\u2019 online, is joining the conversation to point out that Siwa \u201cshouldn\u2019t have been friends\u201d with Ballinger to begin with. \u201cAn adult influencer befriending children in their audience is not healthy or normal,\u201d MoistCr1TiKaL said, calling Ballinger\u2019s friendship with then-12-year-old Siwa \u201cvery weird\u201d and \u201canother big red flag.\u201d MoistCr1TiKaL said, \u201cThis is the worst possible way of starting your defense of someone if you\u2019re trying to prove they\u2019re innocent and everything was a lie.\u201d Asking whether Siwa thought the \u201cvictims\u201d were all \u201cdeep fakes\u201d, MoistCr1TiKaL suggested that Ballinger might not have been inappropriate toward Siwa because the young dancer \u201chad an audience and a platform that could call to light these awful actions.\u201d In response to Siwa calling Ballinger a comedian, MoistCr1TiKaL said, \u201cThere\u2019s not exactly anything side-splitting, gut-busting hilarious about an adult sending sexual videos and messages to kids in a group chat\u2026 that\u2019s just f****** gross.\u201d Ultimately, MoistCr1TiKaL concluded, \u201cIt just feels like [Siwa] had this image of Colleen because they were close, apparently, and she\u2019s refusing to hear from victims who came forward with their own experiences with Colleen\u2026 so she\u2019s writing it all off as being some kind of attack. Some unjust, malicious attack from bad actors.\u201d Viewers supported MoistCr1TiKaL\u2019s take, calling Siwa \u201cdesensitized\u201d and \u201c exploited by adults her entire life\u201d.
