Mom outraged after school confiscates daughter\u2019s pig drawing for being \u201cinappropriate\u201d TIKTOK: sierraleann30A mom went viral on TikTok after calling out her daughter\u2019s school for confiscating her drawing of a pig, deeming it \u201cinappropriate.\u201d Sierra Carter took to TikTok to hit out at her child\u2019s school, saying it was \u201cbull c**p\u201d that a teacher wrote her up for an innocent drawing. The drawing, named \u201cPiggie\u201d appeared to be of a pig saying \u201chi\u201d as it waved its arms. However, staff at Hanover Horton Schools in Michigan, US thought that its attire looked like something else. \u201c[Her teacher] told me that a little boy had come up to her and made her aware that he thought my daughter drew boy parts on her pig project,\u201d she said in her viral video. \u201cSo she went over and asked my daughter for all of her papers, to which my daughter kind of nervously laughed.\u201d Sierra explained that her child told the teacher \u201cright away\u201d that she drew a bow tie. Following this, the teacher then told the 11-year-old that the principal would be getting involved in the situation. \u201cThe teacher proceeded to take all of her papers from her and said she had to give my daughter\u2019s project to the vice principal at the school to handle,\u201d the TikToker recalled. Mom\u2019s reaction to daughter\u2019s \u201cinappropriate\u201d pig drawing Coming into the school to address the issue, Sierra was handed her daughter\u2019s \u201cinappropriate\u201d artwork. \u201cAs soon as I look at it, I\u2019m like \u2018are you fricking kidding me?’\u201d she said. \u201cI literally slammed my hand down on the table. Like, why are we sitting here right now and why was there a big deal made out of this? It\u2019s a fricking bow tie!\u201d The angry mother confronted the principal, and pointed out to him that it was a bow tie, to which he responded: \u201cA bow tie is a bow.\u201d She replied, saying: \u201cIf another kid happened to look at it and think it was something else that sounds more like a \u2018he\u2019 problem, not a \u2018she\u2019 problem.\u201d In the end, the principal put her 11-year-old\u2019s drawing into a folder, in case of any similar \u201cfuture instances.\u201d Hanover Horton Superintendent John Denney told WLNS that school officials handled the issue with \u201ccompassion and discretion\u201d and didn\u2019t ostracise the student. Sierra disagreed, however, and claimed her daughter no longer wants to go to school because she\u2019s anxious and worried about getting in trouble.
