The luxury apartment generated controversy on June 7, as a photo surfaced of the streamer wearing a \u201ctax the rich\u201d sweater. PewDiePie deemed the pad to be \u201chideous,\u201d exclaiming \u201cit all looks so tiny!\u201d The Neeko drama began on March 2, after posting a TikTok wearing a \u201ctax the rich\u201d sweater from congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez\u2019 official store. Echoing the original video which plunged her into fame, the content creator was seen miming the words to \u201cOki Doki Boomer.\u201d Fans were quick to call out alleged hypocrisy within the comments. \u201cNice $60 shirt,\u201d one user pointed out. \u201cQuick reminder that she doesn\u2019t believe in tipping waitresses,\u201d another complained. On June 1, Neeko posted a house tour on her YouTube channel. While the comments were swiftly disabled, viewers still managed to have their say on Twitter. \u201cYou can\u2019t say eat the rich and then buy a $2 million apartment,\u201d one Tweeted. \u201cI\u2019m a socialist (earns millions of dollars a year)\u201d said another. PewDiePie reacted to the \u201ctiny\u201d apartment After previously ranking the houses of Bretman Rock, David Dobrik and Emma Chamberlain, PewDiePie came back for a second installment of \u201cYouTubers\u2019 houses.\u201d This time, Neeko\u2019s was first on the chopping block. After noticing the disabled likes, dislikes and comments; the YouTuber said, \u201cI appreciate her leaving (the video) up for us to scrutinize.\u201d Within the first three minutes of the video, it was clear that PewDiePie felt a certain way about the apartment. While stifling laughter, he claimed \u201cit ain\u2019t looking so fully furnished!\u201d He began pointing out elements of the interior design, questioning \u201cwhy are the chairs at different heights?\u201d After making fake-gagging noises, he said \u201cyou paid $2 million for this?! You\u2019ve got a laundry basket in your f**king hallway!\u201d He also commented on the video itself, branding the editing as \u201cso bad.\u201d Fans supported PewDiePie\u2019s judgement Subscribers to the star mostly agreed with his statements on the city apartment. \u201cFew things are as frustrating as money poorly spent, especially on a home,\u201d fellow YouTuber JoelCreates said. \u201cHer sense of interior design sucks,\u201d another viewer stated.
