The video, satirically titled \u201cIt\u2019s Panic Time\u201d, sees PewDiePie mock many people\u2019s responses to the ongoing health situation. Many people have been \u2018panic buying\u2019 in response to potential lockdowns \u2013 seeing them buy far more groceries, and essentials like toilet paper, than they normally would, to ensure they are well supplied in the coming weeks. In response to a meme video about a \u201crandom chimp event\u201d, PewDiePie mocked people panicking and hoarding groceries: \u201cGuys, you need to stock up. Immediately. Stock up on all the food. This is it. It\u2019s over big time. If the random chimp event has begun there\u2019s not even a point in preparing.\u201d \u201cCannibalism is gonna have to come back,\u201d he joked. \u201cThere\u2019s no hope for humanity. If you haven\u2019t stocked up with at least 500 toilet paper rolls, don\u2019t even think you\u2019re gonna survive the random chimp event.\u201d While he was talking about a \u2018random chimp event\u2019, it\u2019s hard not to think his jokes relate to the ongoing coronavirus panic.
