PewDiePie slams YouTube for release of Logan Paul\u2019s YouTube Red movie The current king of YouTube, Felix \u2018PewDiePie\u2019 Kjellberg, has called out the platform for releasing controversial social media personality Logan Paul\u2019s long-shelved YouTube Red movie, The Thinning: New World Order. He noted that Paul\u2019s movie had been placed on hold ten days after the release of his infamously offensive vlog, where he filmed a deceased person in Japan\u2019s Aokigahara \u2018suicide forest\u2019 \u2013 while Felix\u2019s own show had been canceled just after news broke of his anti-semitic comments in a prank video. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of amazing how a billion dollar company can be so inept at leadership,\u201d he stated of the situation\u2019s disparity. \u201cIf you want to be taken seriously, you need to apply the same rules for everyone.\u201d Felix also called out YouTube\u2019s statement regarding the movie\u2019s release, which claimed that the company had decided to publish the film \u2018out of fairness to the fans who have been asking for the sequel.\u2019 \u201cThank you, YouTube, for your fairness,\u201d he said sarcastically. However, he expressed a sympathy for Logan Paul\u2019s situation, claiming that he hadn\u2019t wanted his movie to be cancelled despite the controversy surrounding his vlog. \u201cPunish Logan for what he did, punish me for my mistakes, but to punish everyone involved in these projects\u2026 they\u2019re so massive, it doesn\u2019t make sense,\u201d he said. \u201cIt just isn\u2019t fair to everyone else involved.\u201d He also noted that the difference in treatment between the two YouTubers could stem from PewDiePie\u2019s name being directly attached to his show, Scare PewDiePie.
