Previously, the highest award a YouTuber could earn was the Custom Play Button given to YouTubers who amassed 50 million subscribers. PewDiePie himself was the first to reach that milestone on December 18, 2016. Five others would go on to reach that plateau including T-Series and 5-Minute Crafts. 600Now, YouTube has unveiled a new Red Diamond Creator Award. “The 100M subscriber record has been surpassed, and that means we have the new creator award! The tweet included a video showing the pristine award being forged and it looks absolutely beautiful. The Pewds broke 100 million subs on August 24 and was the first individual creator to do so. Some of his channel’s growth was the result of the Swede’s ‘PewDiePie vs. T-Series’ feud that saw the YouTube community rally behind Felix against the Indian owned corporation. This culminated in the creation of the video “bitch lasagna” in which PewDiePie dissed T-Series, before later apologizing for the joke and calling off the feud. Despite losing the war and T-Series reaching 100 million first, PewDiePie returned to his gaming roots and uploaded daily Minecraft videos resulting in a surge of additional subscribers. It’s been quite a journey for the 29-year-old internet phenomenon who first started on YouTube back in 2006 and officially launched his second account as PewDiePie in 2010. One has to wonder what YouTube to honor the first creator to hit 150 million. Until then, the Red Diamond Creator Award will be the most prestigious and is likely to remain that way for some time.

YouTube reveals PewDiePie’s 100 million subscriber Red Diamond Creator Award YouTube: PewDiePieYouTube has created a brand new award to honor the King of YouTube himself, Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg for passing the 100M subscriber count, alongside T-Series.
