The streaming war between Twitch, Mixer, YouTube, and Facebook is still raging on. While other sites look to shake up Twitch’s monopoly, the Amazon-owned platform won another battle by managing to secure Pokimane for years to come. The super-popular OfflineTV content creator has almost four million followers on the platform, and is one of the biggest personalities in all of streaming. Pokimane revealed that she was staying with Twitch on March 5, putting out a statement claiming that her community on the platform was her primary reason for staying put. “The community of streamers on Twitch, as well as the community I’ve built around my channel, both mean so much to me,” she said. “I want to continue to make a lasting impact on the world of live streaming, and I truly believe there’s no other place that has the infrastructure and tools that will allow me to do so.” Not only does Pokimane have a reach of four million people on Twitch, she’s also one of gaming’s biggest personalities on other social media sites. She has a legion of fans on Twitter and Instagram, too, boasting 1.7 million and 4.6 million followers on both platforms, respectively. While she started out primarily as a League of Legends streamer, she’s branched out into reaction content, as well as other games like Fortnite — where she has a personalized emote — and, more recently, CS:GO. Pokimane joins streamers like Benjamin ‘DrLupo’ Lupo, Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar, and Saqib ‘Lirik’ Zahid staying on the platform as other sites like the Microsoft-owned Mixer, YouTube Gaming, and Facebook Gaming look to get in on the action. After Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins signed with Mixer back in August 2019, a host of streamers have shuffled around to other sites as platforms look to contest Twitch’s monopoly on the streaming world. Michael ‘shroud’ Grzemiek joined Ninja on Mixer, while Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop found himself on YouTube’s books in November. Facebook hasn’t missed out either, getting the likes of Jeremy ‘DisguisedToast’ Wang and Gonzalo ‘ZeRo’ Barrios going live on their platform. Despite many broadcasters opting for other platforms, it seems that Pokimane is going to stick by her supportive fanbase and remain on Twitch for the foreseeable future.

Pokimane re-signs with Twitch as streaming war rages on Supplied / TwitchStreaming star Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys has committed herself to broadcasting on Twitch, signing a “multi-year deal to continue to stream exclusively on Twitch,” silencing rumors she could have moved to Mixer.
