Paytas released the merchandise on February 19, which featured a series of tops and hoodies emblazoned with the slogan, \u201cGay > Straight.\u201d Paytas explained the design on her Instagram post promoting the merch, writing, \u201cI\u2019ve always preferred gay people over straight\u2026 More accepting\u2026 So, I made merch to proclaim this.\u201d However, many fans aren\u2019t pleased with the design, with some critics feeling that the YouTuber is profiting off of the LGBTQ+ community.
