Shroud explains why Twitch signing streamers is a \u201cgreat\u201d thing During his December 14 broadcast, popular streamer Michael \u2018shroud\u2019 Grzesiek explained how Mixer\u2019s rival Twitch signing other major streamers is actually \u201cgreat\u201d for the industry. Shroud turned the industry on its head when he announced in October that he was following in the footsteps of Tyler \u2018Ninja\u2019 Blevins, and signing exclusively to stream with Mixer. However, despite being a partner with Microsoft, the FPS god says it\u2019s a great thing that their rival Twitch is making moves and also signing personalities to their platform. Shroud says Twitch signing streamers is \u201cgreat\u201d The steamer was playing Escape from Tarkov with a friend when his streaming partner asked him what his thoughts were on Twitch signing popular streamers such as Dr Lupo, TimTheTatman and LIRIK to \u201csecure them.\u201d \u201cI think it\u2019s great. Because now everyone is getting their fair share pretty much,\u201d he said, to which is partner pointed out \u201cit\u2019s going to be a lot harder to scout people that\u2019s for sure!\u201d The Mixer star then compared the industry to sports organizations. \u201cThe streaming industry is changing now. Now it\u2019s going to be a matter of people signing people like sports and sh*t. Which is cool. That\u2019s good for the creators!\u201d he said. Shroud\u2019s streaming partner then exclaimed that \u201cfinancial security\u201d is one of the biggest concerns for any streamer, and that deals like these means that they don\u2019t have to worry as much about losing subs. \u201cAt the end of the day you focus what you do best \u2013 creating content. You know? You don\u2019t have to worry about all the other bullsh*t. And that\u2019s why you do sign,\u201d shroud explained. The two then joked about how since shroud moved to Mixer, he doesn\u2019t have to worry about people in chat complaining about which games he should play, to which he replied, \u201cThey still do a little bit. But it\u2019s not that bad.\u201d Despite recent reports that shroud has lost a substantial amount of viewers since moving to Mixer, the streamer doesn\u2019t seem too worried about views judging by past statements where he exclaimed \u201cI don\u2019t have to sit there and stress that \u201cOh sh*t my viewers went down.\u201d\u2018 Considering the lucrative deals that these streaming platforms are making to secure these popular personalities, it makes sense why viewership numbers wouldn\u2019t be as important to them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
