While playing Apex Legends after a sponsored stream for The Division 2, shroud told viewers why he thinks sponsored streams are a positive thing. \u201cIt\u2019s really cool to see all the sponsored content happening, you know?\u201d he told viewers. \u201cIt\u2019s only getting bigger in terms of like people trying to sponsor streamers and YouTubers that do it.\u201d More and more streamers doing sponsored streams, shroud claimed, would lead to less people calling those who do \u2018sellouts\u2019. \u201cIt\u2019s really cool. One: because obviously you get paid,\u201d shroud said. \u201cAnd two, the more that it happens, the less people are going to be like \u2018wow sellout, wow this\u2019, you know?\u201d At first, shroud said content creators were somewhat hesitant to do sponsored streams for fear of being labelled a sellout, but now it seems like the rewards are starting to outweigh that fear for more and more streamers. Besides getting paid, shroud said streamers aren\u2019t being forced to say a sponsored stream\u2019s games are must-haves either way. \u201cWhen you do a sponsored stream you don\u2019t have to say it\u2019s the best game in the world.\u201d the streamer put forward. \u201cYou\u2019re just there to play it and not blatantly be like, \u2018this game is trash,\u2019 and you don\u2019t do that anyway.\u201d If shroud\u2019s correct, we\u2019ll probably see a big increase in the amount of sponsored streams on Twitch and YouTube headed into 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
