Papers obtained by PEOPLE cited \u201cdifferent lifestyles\u201d as the reason for the couple\u2019s separation, stating \u201cthe marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.\u201d A source told TMZ \u201cShe likes to party, he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles.\u201d The source also claimed the couple had been having issues for the past six months and that Jonas had been looking after their two young children \u201cpretty much all of the time\u201d. However, Turner\u2019s fans are not impressed and have theorized Jonas might be running a \u201csmear campaign\u201d against his former wife. The main reason fans believe Jonas is looking to turn public opinion against Turner comes down to what news has been heard of the couple\u2019s relationship troubles. \u201cEverything that has come out regarding the divorce is so one-sided,\u201d one person on Twitter claimed, suggesting \u201chis camp\u201d was attempting to push a certain narrative. Others are referring to a resurfaced clip of Turner from an interview she did in 2020 as evidence that this is the case.
