Bhushan Kumar, chairman and managing director of Super Cassettes Industries Limited, aka T-Series, tweeted out a video on March 6 as part of the effort to help T-Series overtake PewDiePie as the most subscribed-to channel on YouTube. The video is primarily directed at Indians and applies to their sense of nationalism, asking them to subscribe to T-Series to “make India win.” “There is an Indian YouTube channel on the brink of becoming the world’s number one,” he says. “It has taken us a lot of effort to come this far. To take my father Gulshan Kumar’s dream forward, I started this channel.” Today, it belongs to you; it belongs to the entire nation,” he goes on to say. “This is a historic moment for all of us, so let’s come together and subscribe to T-Series YouTube channel and make India proud.” We’re on the brink of becoming the world’s biggest @YouTube channel. That’s an incredible achievement, and more satisfying than being the number one, to be honest.” We forced them into begging. Lmao. We forced a giant corporation with thousands of workers to beg for subs. That’s an incredible achievement. And more satisfying than being the #1 TBH. — Crow (@CrowTheCrow1) March 6, 2019 As things stand, PewDiePie holds just over a 56,000 subscriber lead over T-Series, as both channels have now topped the 88 million subscriber mark. While most projections have the Bollywood brand passing the Swede on March 9, although no one would be the least surprised if he is still the King of YouTube past that. He has maintained his lead for this long thanks to a variety of last minute boosts, the latest one being popular YouTuber MrBeast hosting Pewds’ popular Meme Review show on March 6. Only time will tell how long this lead will last, but as far as PewDiePie’s fans are concerned, even the fact that T-Series have take such a step to ask for subscribers is a victory of its own.

PewDiePie roasts T-Series CEO for making video plea to Indians amid YouTube race Bollywood Hungama / Rock-CafeAs the race between Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg and T-Series continues to get more and more intense, the Bollywood label’s CEO has publicly asked for help in defeating their great YouTube rival.
