Calling herself \u201ccripplingly demonetized\u201d by YouTube, the star brought up an interview from vlogger David Dobrik with Men\u2019s Health, where he admitted to making less than $2k from AdSense \u2013 despite raking in over 200 million views per video. Following the site\u2019s infamous \u201cadpocalyspe\u201d (and subsequent FTC COPPA rulings on child-oriented content), many YouTubers are bemoaning their current earnings. Still, Mongeau refuses to \u201csell out\u201d in exchange for big bucks. \u201cIf you watch me, or if you\u2019ve ever watched any of my content, you know I am cripplingly demonetized,\u201d she explained. \u201cI am cripplingly unpaid from this whole YouTube thing that I do. I never really\u2026 wanna compromise my content to make money on ads.\u201d Her desire for authenticity even caused her to turn down a whopping $2 million from a brand deal, which she explained during a video uploaded on November 25. According to Mongeau, Bang Energy reached out to her manager with a proposal for $1 million, but with a catch: she\u2019d have to promote the merchandise for the \u201crest of 2019\u201d in a large number of YouTube and Instagram posts. \u201cHe adds to the contract that I have to do all these Instagram posts telling people to follow him,\u201d she said of the company\u2019s CEO. \u201c\u2026but it\u2019s like, do you want to de-saturate your Instagram content like that?\u201d Thus, Mongeau initially turned down the deal: but not before Bang\u2019s CEO doubled the amount she\u2019d be cashing out on, raising the stakes to $2 million. In spite of this massive opportunity, the YouTuber turned down the offer a second time, claiming that she didn\u2019t want to damage her brand. \u201cI never want to be that girl on Instagram, like, \u2018Hehe, the sunrise was so pretty today, follow the Bang Energy CEO,\u2019\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s not me.
