Imane \u2018Pokimane\u2019 Anys is one of the most-followed streamers on Twitch and one of the site\u2019s most popular female broadcasters, overall. Recently, Anys has been on the receiving end of criticism across social media after becoming the target of a hate raid from fellow streamer Jidion. After the drama regarding the hate raid died down \u2014 which saw Jidion cop a permanent Twitch ban \u2014 it looks like there\u2019s more turmoil in store for the star. TheQuartering takes Pokimane to court over takedown email On January 31, 2021, YouTuber \u2018TheQuartering\u2019 announced on Twitter that he will be taking Pokimane to court. In a subsequent tweet, he revealed that he\u2019d received an email from Pokimane\u2019s brand management team, Corsearch. In the email, these reps requested that TheQuartering remove two of his videos due to \u201cInfringing Content\u201d and \u201cCopyrighted Content.\u201d Essentially, it looks like Pokimane\u2019s brand management are asking TheQuartering to take down two videos because they used content owned by Anys. He also noted this notice did not come through YouTube itself, but through an external means. \u201cEssentially, anything that makes a creator look bad they\u2019ll bully and bend the law, in my opinion, to get people to remove that content,\u201d he said of the situation. \u201cThat\u2019s really what they\u2019re doing.\u201d \u201cThey\u2019re going around, and they\u2019re going to get her in trouble legally,\u201d he continued, going on to claim that he will be taking Pokimane to court over the situation. \u201cThese videos from years ago \u2014 you\u2019re bringing them back up to the surface now. Why? This is a pretty big oopsie, and I highly recommend she call off her dogs because what they\u2019re doing is obviously not above board.\u201d This wouldn\u2019t be the first time Pokimane has been called out for claiming another creator\u2019s videos over purported copyright infringement. In early 2019, Anys was called out by none other than PewDiePie for the same matter after copy striking videos from YouTuber Bowblax in late 2018. In her response to PewDiePie, Anys notably explained that she will \u201ctake down videos when it\u2019s a straight reupload of my stream, and when it\u2019s like a gross and misleading title.\u201d Pokimane\u2019s representatives apologize for takedown email TheQuartering gave fans an update about the situation on February 2, showing that he\u2019d received another email from Pokimane\u2019s representatives. The email stated that their initial takedown notice was sent \u201cin error,\u201d and apologized to the YouTuber for the kerfuffle. The reps also claimed they had removed \u201cany previous reinforcement\u201d on his affected videos.
