Paul\u2019s character, Alec Fixler, has been removed from the show altogether \u2013 even though Fixler had been a major part of Foursome\u2019s previous three seasons. This change is reportedly in response to Paul\u2019s controversial vlog that he uploaded to the platform in early 2018, where he filmed a deceased person in Japan\u2019s Aokigahara \u2018Suicide Forest.\u2019 Rather than casting another actor to play Alec, it appears that writers have decided to strip the show of the character altogether. This news follows the recent release of Paul\u2019s YouTube Red movie on October 17, \u2018The Thinning: New World Order,\u2019 which was given the greenlight after nearly a year of being shelved after the YouTuber\u2019s massive debacle. This release itself saw some criticism, as YouTuber PewDiePie\u2019s original show, \u2018Scare PewDiePie: Season Two\u2019 was completely canceled following a controversy where he used anti-semitic language in a prank video. PewDiePie himself commented on the disparity in one of his videos, where he took issue with YouTube\u2019s inconsistencies in regards to punishing its creators and the teams who worked on their original projects. YouTube explained the release of The Thinning as \u201cfairness\u201d to the hard work of the film\u2019s staff in a statement to the Verge.
