TikTokker \u2018Jarida\u2019 shared a well-known makeup hack to her followers in a video, where she explained that putting on translucent powder before foundation helps the makeup to last longer. The video quickly gained over three million views, causing YouTubers to test the hack out for themselves \u2014 but their efforts were quickly dashed, with many complaining that their uploads had been claimed by the TikTokker for using her footage in their own videos. YouTuber \u2018SophDoesLife\u2019 took to Twitter to address the issue, which incited a wave of backlash against Jarida for appearing to claim her video\u2019s ad revenue over a small clip. \u201cRight, so the girl who posted the TikTok makeup hack of using powder before foundation has copyright claimed my recent YouTube video!\u201d she explained. \u201cI don\u2019t get it, surely it\u2019s free promo for her TikTok. When you dispute the copyright claim with facts such as fair use, they will deny your dispute. At that point, the ONLY action that you can take is to file a lawsuit and take them to court.
