TikTok star Larray addresses high school blackmail allegations Instagram: larrayTikTok star Larri \u2018Larray\u2019 Merrit has responded to a series of allegations that suggested he had blackmailed students at his high school with personal photographs, claiming that he had \u201cabsolutely nothing to do\u201d with the situation. Larray is a popular TikTok influencer with almost 19 million followers on the platform alone, and millions of followers on other sites like YouTube and Instagram. He\u2019s primarily known for his comic content, and is friends with other huge influencers like the D\u2019Amelio sisters and James Charles. On November 11, a TikTok account by the name of \u2018larrayisanabuser\u2019 posted a video that accused Larray of \u201csexually manipulating and blackmailing\u201d them \u201calong with three other men in high school.\u201d They alleged that in Sophomore years they were added on messaging service Kik by a girl they \u201cthought they knew from Instagram.\u201d As they exchanged flirtatious messages, the girl supposedly asked for revealing pictures, and the student sent them as requested. According to this account, once they\u2019d sent the pictures the girl\u2019s \u201ctone changed.\u201d \u201cThis is when she starts to threaten me that if I \u2018don\u2019t make out with Larry\u2019 then she\u2019ll send my nudes to the principal and get me expelled.\u201d The account reports that when they confronted the girl about it on Instagram, she claimed she didn\u2019t have a Kik account. The images were reportedly never leaked and they were not contacted by the user again. They also claim that several other boys who attended the same high school have come to them with stories that follow a similar pattern. After the allegations gained traction, Larray released a statement to defend himself, despite being \u201cadvised not to speak on the situation.\u201d The TikToker says \u201cI just want to clarify I had absolutely nothing to do with it. I wasn\u2019t well liked in high school, and also had a social media presence at the time, so anyone could have used my name.\u201d He stresses that \u201cI take sh*t like this very seriously, especially since I\u2019m a victim of sexual assault.\u201d He says he\u2019s \u201cnot comfortable letting the situation go unacknowledged\u201d and adds that although he \u201cfeels bad for what happened\u201d he \u201ccan\u2019t take responsibility for something [he] didn\u2019t do.\u201d It\u2019s unclear as to whether the matter has been investigated formally by the authorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
