In a viral video with 11 million views, content creator Lane explained that she received a message from an unknown number last year, telling her to take an Ancestry.com test. \u201cAnd I think it\u2019s fake, I FaceTime my friend, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Listen to this,’\u201d she recalled in the clip. \u201cAnd she\u2019s like, \u2018I swear my gut is telling me this is real. You need to respond.\u2019 So I respond, and then they write me back.\u201d The TikToker said the text conversation left her shocked, and that the stranger made a \u201cburner account on Facebook\u201d to message her and her husband about the DNA test. \u201cThey would not provide me with any sort of proof that this was real, and, obviously, I called my mom immediately, saying, \u2018What the f**k,’\u201d she added. Her mother eventually confessed that she had an affair with a 25-year-old man while she was in college at age 35. She admitted the man who raised Lane was not her biological father. \u201cI almost fell off my f**king chair,\u201d the TikToker recalled. \u201cIt was a one-time thing, but he even saw her on campus and said, \u2018Is that mine?\u2019 and she denied it.\u201d Frustrated, Lane immediately ordered an Ancestry test, and received her results six weeks later. \u201cI find out that, yes, this man is my father. So I message him immediately, and he lives in California. He\u2019s British. What the f**k? \u201cHe said my mom sent him a Christmas card when I was two years old, saying my name in it and that he\u2019s googled my name ever since. In 2007, my name popped up, and he saw a picture of me, and he knew immediately that I was his daughter.\u201d Lane\u2019s father emailed her mother to get in contact with her, but she \u201cthreatened him\u201d and said to \u201cleave them alone\u201d and never contact them again. \u201cSo what did he do? He followed me on social media my entire life,\u201d Lane said. She then posted a side-by-side photo of her and her biological father, writing, \u201cI\u2019m telling you this picture freaked me the f**k out.\u201d In another video, she explained that it wasn\u2019t her biological dad who sent the text messages, but his nephew, who was in a similar experience. She also revealed that she\u2019d cut her mom out of her life.
