Starbucks is one of the most well-known and popular coffee chains across America and the rest of the world. And while it may be many people’s go-to, the price of the drinks is still high. As a result, people are often posting hacks online to help people purchase their drink of choice for as little cost as possible. In a now-viral TikTok, Justine Alvarez posted a video on the platform revealing her hack for getting a Starbucks coffee for under $5. The video, which has almost 4 million views at the time of writing, has been viewed and commented on by many of the 4.9 million followers Alveraz has, as well as other coffee lovers on the app. “This one’s for all the Starbucks people that can’t seem to go a day without a drink,” Justine began, “But for some reason, we’re spending oodles amount of money on drinks.” “So anyways, I walked inside of Target, and I was like, ‘Today’s the day. I am ordering a f**king custom drink. I just tried it before I started filming, and you guys, it’s actually so freaking good.” The TikToker then went on to reveal exactly what she ordered and put in the drink, stating it was a “triple shot of blonde espresso over ice” with “salted caramel cold foam, oat milk, two pumps of sugar-free vanilla, and one pump of toffee nut.” “You don’t have to get all of those things if you don’t want to,” Justine then told her followers. “If you’re not a cold foam girlie, you don’t have to get the cold foam. It adds an extra dollar, but this was $4 … and it’s a Venti cup! However, others in the comments have begun revealing that they tried this hack and the results weren’t exactly the same. “Ordered this today, and it was $5.74,” one user wrote, while others added, “OK, what am I doing wrong? It comes out to $8.97,” and “this was $6.74, DUDEEE I TRUSTED.” While this hack seems to be hit-and-miss, it won’t stop others from doing their best to try and find the cheapest Starbucks order they can.
