When asked about it, the CEO\u2019s answer cast quite a bit of doubt on the feature\u2019s future. Dan Clancy casts doubt on Twitch Prime sub future During the stream, Twitch streamer Lowco shared a clip of Dan Clancy responding to a question about the future of Prime subs. \u201cPrime is a critical program for many streamers,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve already been looking across the company on how to set us up for the long term. We\u2019ll continue to evolve aspects of our program\u2026 \u201cIt\u2019s important for us to make sure Prime still exists in some way.\u201d With the newfound knowledge that Twitch isn\u2019t profitable as a company, it left many wondering if the program is going to be changed or even removed in the near future. One user replied: \u201cThat Prime subsidizing has to be a huge number for them. I\u2019d imagine it gets rolled up in their P&L and is a meaningful loss in their attempt to profitability. It\u2019s a hard thing to justify permanently, and if it\u2019s really driving incremental adoption or retention to Amazon Prime.\u201d \u201cmy guess is Prime Subs either go away entirely or they\u2019ll pay out significantly less than a T1 sub will,\u201d another replied.
