After an incredible year that included becoming the most-watched female streamer, starring in a music video, and becoming co-owner of 100 Thieves, fans were shocked to hear that Valkyrae could be taking a step back from streaming and social media. During an April 27 stream, the YouTuber hinted that she would eventually \u201cpivot out of social media\u201d and instead move into business and investing, blaming the \u201ctrolls, and hate, and creepiness\u201d she\u2019s been exposed to as a result of being in the public eye. However, in a post shared on her secondary Twitter account on May 3, she\u2019s now clarified that she won\u2019t be quitting streaming after all, reminding fans that she\u2019s been a gamer for her whole life and that passion hasn\u2019t gone away. \u201cBTW when I said I planned to \u201cpivot out of streaming to do business\/investing\u201d I didn\u2019t mean entirely,\u201d she tweeted. \u201cAs long as there are games and my friends want to play with me, I\u2019ll always stream it. I\u2019ve been gamin\u2019 my whole life why would I ever stop!\u201d Addressing the various comments and articles that have been written about her potentially quitting streaming, Valkyrae added: \u201cMaybe I should mention this on my main LOL WHY ARE THERE ARTICLES OF ME QUITTING?!?\u201d Fans will no doubt be glad to hear that Valkyrae\u2019s plans to focus on business in the future won\u2019t stop her from streaming, but it\u2019s clear that the more toxic side of internet fame is having a negative impact on her. \u201cWhat makes me happy is being safe,\u201d the YouTube star explained in a previous stream. \u201c[This life] is so exposing, and people \u2014 especially on social media \u2014 are always looking for the worst in you.
